@SPeitsch Fees clearing in one block were 1 sat/vbyte just last week. (Regarding fees, see https://t.co/qEDiA1x2Cx for history, or you can verify on your own node). I opened channels on the lightning network with other users at that time to make practically free transactions anytime.

@SPeitsch I fundamentally disagree that it solves nothing and is not being used as a currency, and I think there is a plethora of easily verifiable evidence otherwise for both.

@SPeitsch If you’re not interested in what “could be,” then I think you’re missing out on what makes reality great. I recommend these books: https://t.co/1ITNHvjSc4 https://t.co/ECeJE7RsPG Also, I am not opposed to student loan forgiveness OR UBI. Both more efficient than QE/austerity.

@SPeitsch Sorry, I simply don’t understand your argument here. Can you rephrase it in some way? “Dosen’t require you to have money to take part in it?” The purpose of currency is to coordinate individual entities in a system to efficiently solve problems collectively (like ATP in a cell)

@SPeitsch The point of democracy is not how to elect the best leader or how to organize an economy, that happens after democracy. The point of democracy is to non-violently remove a leader. https://t.co/Jhrmpt71IB Bitcoin offers leaderless global coordination.

@_Vyzos @MattBinder Sending money internationally usually makes me feel like a criminal, took years to set up properly, and costs me much much more than the ATM fee cited by OP. (I also pay more taxes in Japan than Americans do, btw, and am not opposed taxation or gov.— not all Bitcoiners are alike)

@MasterMofeto @MattBinder I am very self aware, I didn’t ‘come out’ as a Bitcoiner for a long time because I was afraid of what people would think. Still am. I am willing to ditch any aspect of Bitcoin if a better explanation is provided. The consensus model allows you, too, to change anything about it.

@SPeitsch If you’re interested in stablecoins (one way to addresses this parochial speculative volatility issue), here’s an interesting podcast on a proposal for sidechains WITHOUT the tragedy of commons that comes from tokens: https://t.co/skUmGBvLDu

@_Vyzos @MattBinder Bitcoin has more universality than what fiat can offer—but I’m actually not opposed to fiat for this transitionary period. I use it all the time. But I also don’t live in America but often need to send money home. Bitcoin is a great intermediary and savings tool for me personally

@MattBinder Confirmation bias, look it up in Spanish on Twitter. Bitcoin has problems, but problems are soluable. Take it seriously, don’t just confirm your biases. https://t.co/Z0ycvp40Ju
